Recruiting Services

Hillsdale College graduates are prepared to succeed in practically every field. Organizations are welcome to recruit Hillsdale students on-site or virtually at no charge and with great flexibility. All graduate and professional schools are welcome to recruit.  If you would like information on any of our programs or options, or would like to explore additional recruiting possibilities beyond those listed, contact us at 517-607-2457 or We have a customer-service oriented approach to serving you.

Hillsdale College Career Services uses the Handshake platform for posting job, internship, fellowship, and graduate school opportunities. Building a profile helps you to connect with students, post jobs, conduct on-campus interviews and much more. Please go to to register.

We actively market all postings to our student and alumni registrants through targeted emails and announcements.

Disclaimer: We reserve the right to exclude recruiting access to organizations. Typical reasons for exclusion include requiring candidates to pay to be hired or offering unpaid internships at for-profit businesses. Such opportunities are assessed on a case by case basis.

Position Listings

We list open positions through on Handshake on a year-round basis.  Students/alumni apply directly to you in the manner you select.  We will keep the listing active for the length of time you specify.  To list positions, forward a job description with complete contact information and application deadline to Courtney Noonan.

Resume Referral Service

We manage resume referrals to provide you with a more targeted recruiting option, often with very quick deadlines.

  1. You tell us the specific type of candidate you’re seeking
  2. We post the position, alert candidates who qualify, gather resumes, and forward them to you in one email batch on your deadline date.
  3. To set up a Resume Referral, e-mail the appropriate job description(s) to Joanna Wiseley, and indicate the date you’d like resumes.

Live@Hillsdale – Virtual Recruiting

We provide you the opportunity to connect with students without traveling to campus. We utilize Google Hangout, but can manage other technologies as well. You can schedule an interactive Info Session on your organization, opportunities, etc. at your convenience, and we’ll market the session to students.  The best time for such sessions in 7:30pm (Eastern Time) Mondays – Thursdays.  We also schedule Skype interviews.  Contact Keith Miller to set up a session.

On-Campus Recruiting/Employer Information Sessions

You can schedule recruiting visits and information sessions during our fall and spring semesters to identify qualified candidates.  To schedule a session, choose a date and submit a completed On Campus Recruiting Form to Courtney Noonan.

On-Campus Career Event Participation

We sponsor a series of events year-round that include organization representatives as presenters.  This is an excellent way to increasing your organization’s presence on campus and for you to “pre-identifying” quality candidates.  For currently available opportunities, contact Courtney Noonan.  Event sponsorship is welcomed as well.

Professional Networking Experiences

These experiences can take a variety of forms, but essentially, we bring the students (small groups) to you.  We currently offer programs in Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Washington, D.C., but are open to new location possibilities.  For more details, contact Joanna Wiseley.

Mock Interview Participation

We sponsor a Mock Interviews (Skype or on-campus) to prepare students for success.  Organizations conduct the interviews and critique the student’s performance.  You choose the block of time you’d like and participating students sign up in advance.  This is a great opportunity to identify potential candidates.  Contact Keith Miller for details.

Student Group Presentations

Student academic and professional groups are continuously seeking speakers for their meetings and events.  These events are often rather informal, and give you the opportunity to develop a working relationship with an involved segment of our student body.  Contact Courtney Noonan to start connecting.
